A Reddit user says Jason may be a former Army Ranger from the 75th, pointing to a left shoulder tattoo that the user says is the 75th unit patch. This is an unverified fan reading of official material.
The user also says the custom pistols in the ultimate edition carry an engraving that is the Ranger motto, and that a shirt in the launch trailer is a reference to a predecessor unit. Rockstar has not confirmed any of this.
